Earl Simmons, known to most as DMX, a notable rapper has passed away at the age of 50. He both spoke and rapped openly about his own journey through addiction and mental health. His passing brings up the question: how do you deal with the loss of a recoveree? If you work for an organization, are there support systems in place to help with the grieving process?

I have not experienced a loss like this, yet I can identify with your topic of grieving coaches. We as coaches open our hearts to help others, and with that comes a sense of camaraderie between coaches. It can be easy to "keep the doors open" too long and feel a sense of failure when a recurrence happens or any sub-optimal actions occur. So here is when I would desire a "for coaches by coaches" group, so I can set the best boundary for the working relationship.
In past experiences, I didn't talk these feelings through with a third party, and felt myself come off as colder to the recoveree when I may should have been even more nurturing.
These moments impact our ability to coach, and therefore our collective reputation as RCPs.
One reason I came to the IARCP was in search of a support group specific to coaches, so I may discuss these events with like-minds, while keeping recoverees anonymity of course.
I'm curious to know if other coaches would attend a weekly/ biweekly meeting like that.
